Our Mission

Our Mission

August 20th, 2007

United Way of the North Shore is unique in that most of our funds are raised from local individual residents. In order to better serve these donors, we have maintained the six local chapter Boards to focus on the specific needs of the ten communities that we serve.

We do have significant needs in our North Shore communities. These needs range from helping our children, families, to the elderly, and the handicapped. We support a basket of services that include substance abuse and sexual counseling for our youth; housing, employment and respite care for our handicapped; and support dignity and self-sufficiency for the elderly. We fund sixty-three agencies that efficiently and effectively deliver the services needed by community residents. Remember, we do the homework so that your donations make the most impact in our communities.
